Pete Wiseman’s micro gallery upstairs at the bookshop is coming along famously – he and a friend have transformed the upstairs space, painting walls, moving furniture and installing paintings. The launch is set to go ahead tomorrow evening, 2 November, from 7pm – do call in, with any luck there will be hot chocolate too! And of course lots of books to buy – plus cards and prints of Pete’s work. The paintings in the gallery will be for sale, and Pete also takes commissions – he is a portrait painter, among other things. There may even be music!
We also now have some fabulous book sculptures – I’ve always loved this sort of thing, and am delighted to have found a local book sculptor. Here are a few photos of how the shop space is being transformed – pictures of the micro gallery when it’s all ready!
